2008 so far for Dhwani

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

2008 has had many ebbs and lows for Dhwani. While the ebbs have seen a lot many Dhwani shows happening across India and working on new Concept Shows for the coming season, the biggest low that Dhwani had to face was the untimely demise of Mrs. Vinita Shivdasani, the person who had been the guiding force of Dhwani since the time it was formed.
A multi talented personality who had really given the right direction to Dhwani, Vinita aunty, as we fondly called her, had helped us at each step in our endeavor to musical perfection. It has been a great loss for us as she was a motherly figure for us who had showered upon us so much love and affection and always guided us. We pray that her soul rests in peace and we offer our deepest condolence to her family.

The year has been good for us so far musically and we are looking forward to a rocking second half of 2008. For more information visit www.musicofdhwani.com. Cheers!!

The Year That was…

Monday, January 21st, 2008

2007 was truely memorable to say the least. So many shows happened both in India as well as abroad (London and Nepal beckoned us). We had the privilege of presenting a show purely for the Teacher fraternity and it was really appreciated. The year end was jam packed with innumerable shows. 24th and 31st nights rocked to Dhwani’s music. We surely had a great time last year. And have had a fantastic start to year 2008 and we hope to come out with some new ‘concept shows’ this year for our fans. So here’s to some wonderful music coming your way soon. Cheers!!!

To Teachers With Love

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

On the 3rd of September, Dhwani presented a unique show called “To Teachers With Love” Kalamandir Auditorium in Kolkata. The uniqueness of the show was the fact that it was a musical show presented by Dhwani on the occasion of Teacher`s Day as a mark of respect to the Teacher`s Fraternity for their untiring efforts in imparting knowledge and guidance to our society. “To Teacher`s with love – 2007”, has been a unique event and the first of kinds where the audience consisted of  the principals and teachers of various educational institutions and societies of Kolkata.

The show was a big hit amongst the audience who sang and danced along with Dhwani and rally appreciated the effort put in by Dhwani in appreciating the contributions that teachers make to mould our society and every human being to create a wonderful world that we live in today.

Congratulations!!!

Hi Navin, Diti, Sriram, Sarita,

“I just called to say I LOVE YOU”  “and I mean it from the bottom of my heart” - This morning I just could not stop myself from sending you this mail - DHWANI - you took my breath away. I wish I could sing this song for the four of you.

I have been  a teacher for nearly twenty years now, but never before has my experience of Teacher’s Day been so momentous, so stupendous or so awesome! ! Never before have I felt that my vocation as a teacher was the right choice I ever made in life! Yesterday I saw right before my eyes what we as teachers can do in our classrooms - plant that tiny seed called DREAM in the hearts of  the children we teach and encourage them to nurture it.

The feeling of deep Guru Prem, gratitude, respect, glorification of all the teachers present there makes me want say “Jug jug jiyo”
Thank you for making us teachers feel so special. I shall always cherish the memories of this day for ever.

THANK YOU DHWANI  ! ! !

Namaste London

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Dhwani’s maiden international show happened in London on 17th of March, 2007.The show was organised by The Rajasthani Foundation in London.

We landed in London on the morning of 16th of March, 2007 via Mumbai (we had a show in Lonavala near Mumbai on the previous evening) and were greeted by a very chilly weather. But we were adequately prepared for that.

We were put up at the Radisson SAS Portman hotel in central London and that was our residence for the next 3 days.

We performed to a sold out audience who rocked…

The show on the 17th of March, 2007 was a big hit and was really appeciated by one and all…. All thanks to the almighty and to the blessings of all elders for this…

The next day was spent by us by way of sightseeing the beauty of London on a bright sunny but very chilly day.

We have great memories of this trip and sincerely hope that we would soon go back to this wonderful place called London… Till then Namaste London….
